WhatsApp messenger is now finally show up on the JioPhone and JioPhone2. Reliance had announced in its 41st Annual General Meeting that the WhatsApp messenger would be soon available in all JioPhones. The app was initially planned to lunch on KaiOS-based JioPhones on August 15 and it’s now rolling out through the Jio store. Users can download this uniquely designed WhatsApp version on their JioPhone and JioPhone2 from JioStore. Reliance Jio also announced the JioPhone2 in its 41st Annual General Meeting. Reliance Jio also claims that the JioPhone is the largest selling feature phone in India under Rs. 1500 category.
JioPhone already has many apps like Facebook launched its dedicated app for JioPhone users, Google also launched Maps & Google Assistant for JioPhone users in December, and PDF Reader and a dedicated YouTube app etc. This is WhatsApp’s debut of entering in 4G Feature Phone. WhatsApp claims that this KaiOS-based WhatsApp version is similar to the Android and IPhone versions. And it’s also provide end-to-end encryption.
The app also allows users to record and send their voice messages. And users also make conversations in groups. However it doesn’t allow users to make Voice or video calls in messenger. It also doesn’t allow user to use its one of the key feature and that is making online Payments which was recently came in Android and IPhone versions.
To download WhatsApp on your JioPhone, go to JioStore form the menu and then scroll and find WhatsApp and there you can see install option and after click it begin the installation. You need to make sure that you JioPhone is running on the latest software update. And after installation done you need to verify your number to use WhatsApp.
In a press statement while announcing the release Vice President of WhatsApp Chris Daniels, said “Millions of people across India can now use WhatsApp private messaging on the best-in-class JioPhone across India”.
By designing this new app for KaiOS, we hope to expand the ability for people to communicate with anyone in India and around the world by offering the best messaging experience possible to JioPhone users.
